THE RESTORATION PROCESS

Alloy wheel repair and restoration is a complex and challenging process.  At United Wheel we have conquered this challenge with a combination of skilled craftsmen and state of the art technology.  As General Patton stated, “you fight battles with weapons, but you win battles with men.”  Our talented remanufacturing staff has over fifty years of experience in the repair industry.  The key piece of equipment utilized by these skilled craftsmen is the computer networked controlled lathe or CNC machine.  This machine is capable of cutting an aluminum alloy to within .001 or one-thousandth of an inch.  These tolerances are well within the specifications required by all manufacturers.

Each wheel goes through a stringent inspection regimen to ensure the structural integrity of the wheel upon completion or the remanufacture process.  This process includes stripping the old finish, CNC machining and welding, color restoration, and oven baked powder coating.  All wheels remanufactured at United Wheel must satisfy our strict quality and safety standards.
